Black Friday Shopping Tips

From today itself or 3 days prior to shopping…

  • Scout for deals.
  • Look in the newspaper and online.
  • Make a list of your top priority purchases.
  • Research the products you’re interested in, especially electronics. Sometimes a deal really is too good to be true.
  • Plan your budget.
  • Double check the opening times for the stores you want to visit and create a schedule around your lists of top purchases and store opening times. Figure out the most efficient route to the stores on your list. If you have time, walk through the stores a day or two beforehand to learn the layout.
  • Enlist a buddy to shop with you. The best buddies are avid shoppers and share your schedule. If you have more than one top purchase, coordinate with your buddy or family members.
  • Fill your car’s gas tank.

On Black Friday – Shopping day…

Charge your phone. Make sure you have everything you need: money, coupons, ads etc. See the Key Tools section. Get to your first store as early as possible. Don’t forget to take breaks! Stay hydrated and fed.
